Sky-watchers are getting ready for another big show in the heavens.

The Perseid meteor showers this year will peak in August, with up to 100 meteors per hour visible to the naked eye.

Activity has already started, but the best viewing is expected for midnight to pre-dawn hours Aug. 12-13.

You won’t need telescopes or binoculars, but give your eyes about 20 minutes to adjust. You’ll also want to get away from city lights for the best view.

Organizers for the event include the Dubai Astronomy Group, which will take in the sights in Ras Al Khaimah. Register in advance.
